Call for Coders Corner
Papers
Deadline for Abstracts
July 31, 2009
Dear
Have you
ever thought you would like to present a talk at a SAS meeting?
We will be hosting
our third Coders’ Corner Meeting on Wednesday December 2nd, 2009. The meeting will be
devoted to short talks (10 minutes) and will be your chance to practice your
speaking skills or show off a new technique in a supportive environment.
The SUGI 31
website described Coders Corner talks as: "brief, walk-through
presentations of SAS code or applications that deal with clever solutions,
personal productivity tools, efficiency techniques, hard-to-find errors,
undocumented features, widely applicable algorithms or macros, and creative
uses of SAS software, from Base SAS to one of the specialized SAS
products."
First-time
BASUG presenters are especially encouraged to participate. Experienced SAS teacher and presenter, Bob
Virgile, has offered to give feedback and support to anyone who would like to
start presenting.
Benefits to
presenting include:
Ø
Impress
your employer/future employers
Ø
Provide
useful ideas and information to your colleagues
Ø
Receive
useful feedback from your colleagues during Q&A
Ø
Receive
feedback and support on the presentation content from Bob Virgile
Ø
Make
a dry run for topics that you might present later at a more formal meeting like
NESUG, PharmaSUG or SAS Global Forum
Even if you
are just considering a topic, we’d love to hear from you. We’re happy to help you develop your ideas.
And remember, your little coding trick or tool might save a colleague a day of
programming!
If you’re
interested in participating, please let us know by July 31, 2009. Early submissions are appreciated as it helps
us spread out the work.
Please submit
the following information:
1. Brief description of talk, along
with working title
2. Anticipated length of presentation
3. Contact information
If you are
chosen to present, a detailed abstract and a short bio will be due by September
18, 2009.
Please send
submissions, questions or ideas to Lori Goldman (Lori.Goldman@rcn.com) and
Sally
Skinner (Sally.Skinner@tufts.edu
